High-Octane Brain Fitness is a science-based cognitive fitness and brain health coaching program developed by Dr. Michelle Braun, and inspired by her bestselling book, High-Octane Brain: 5 Science-Based Steps to Sharpen Memory and Reduce Your Risk of Alzheimer's.

The program includes classes, support, and resources to optimize memory, slow cognitive aging, significantly lower the risk of Alzheimer’s, and maximize independent functioning and quality of life. After the publication of “High-Octane Brain: 5 Science-Based Steps to Sharpen Your Memory and Reduce Your Risk of Alzheimer’s,” Dr. Braun was approached by several regional and national healthcare and consumer organizations who were interested in learning how they could use its personalized plan to help consumers boost memory and reduce their chances of developing Alzheimer’s.

In response to that demand, Dr. Braun developed High-Octane Brain Fitness, a science-based cognitive fitness and brain health coaching program with weekly in-person classes and online support and resources to optimize memory, slow cognitive aging, significantly lower the risk of Alzheimer’s, and maximize independent functioning and quality of life. High-Octane Brain Fitness pairs research from High-Octane Brain with new advances in neuroscience and Dr. Braun’s clinical expertise in behavioral change and motivational enhancement to create proprietary socially-based cognitive fitness exercises and engaging habit tracking, with a personalized focus for maximum impact. Content is continuously updated based on participant feedback, making High-Octane Brain Fitness maximally engaging and highly effective in increasing memory capacity and minimizing common “brain blips” (e.g. misplacing objects, word-finding difficulties, forgetting names, and forgetting why one walked into a room). Participants also consistently report better quality sleep, greater joy, and enhanced overall functioning!

EXCELS Trajectory Tracker

Participants can track their brain health activities easily with the EXCELS Trajectory Tracker. This simple method has proven to be both informative and motivational for anyone working to improve their long-term brain health.

The tracker is available in paper format or in an easy-to-use online form which provides ongoing daily and weekly scores.

Outcome data from High-Octane Brain Fitness classes reveals that 96% of participants are satisfied to extremely satisfied with the program, 94% -100% of participants rated the exercises as effective, 100% rated the tracking program (EXCELS Trajectory Tracker) as effective, and more than 75% signed up for ongoing classes (classes are provided weekly, in an ongoing format, similar to ongoing physical fitness classes, and can be started at any time). After just four weekly classes, participants reported 23% increased engagement in exercise, 37% more consumption of brain-healthy foods, and a 12% improvement in sleep.
